TERMS & CONDITIONS All rates are in Mexican Pesos and exclusive of Value Added Tax (IVA). Minimum 3 nights stay for Christmas and Easter. Minimum 3 nights over New Years Eve & 2 nights over long weekends. Strictly no smoking and zero drugs policy. PAYMENT Full payment or minimum 50% deposit is required at the time of booking Reservations in peak periods i.e. Easter and Christmas / New Years require full non-refundable payment 14 days prior to arrival. VISA or Mastercard accepted. American Express & Diners Club are no longer accepted. A 9% electronic payment processing fee applies. When you submit a reservation you declare that you accept our policies. The full amount can be charged at any time after you make a reservation. For single day divers and dive students, a deposit of 50% per person minimum is required to secure your reservation. For multi-day packages or courses, a deposit of 25% or a $100 minimum is required to secure your reservations. All divers are required to complete an online reservation form, sign our waiver found on our website and pay a deposit using the reservation app. When your reservation form is received, you will be notified via email with a confirmation and an estimate of your total costs to dive with us. Without a deposit, we cannot guarantee your reservation. You can use all major credit cards to make a payment except American Express and Diners.. For dive packages and/or courses we offer a promotional discount in the value of max. the daily lowest rate of a basic dorm per night per diving day. This promotion does not apply in peak season between the 15th of December and 15th of January and during special events such as Carnaval, Ironman, Triathlon World Cup, Rosh Hashana, etc. Discounts cannot be combined with other offers or special promotions. Promotional discounts can be applied to payments made directly and solely to 2tank Dive Hostel. We don't discount payments made to 3rd parties. (such as travel or sales agents and their commissions, OTAs, Hostelworld, etc.) Promotional offers are subject to availability, the discretion of the hostel management.
Medical Policy
We make your safety our highest priority

Prior to all diving activities and courses with us you will be required to read and complete a medical questionnaire which will identify any pre-existing condition which may affect your safety while diving.

A positive response to any of the questions in the form would mean that you must seek to obtain a written/signed medical clearance from a physician prior to engaging in in-water activities.

A written/signed medical clearance from a diving physician is required for the following medical conditions:

  • History of heart surgery, heart desease, heart attack or stroke (CVA)
  • History of high blood pressure combined with subscription of “Betablockers” to regulate hypertension
  • History of lung surgery, pneumothorax or collapsed lung
  • Asthma, if client generally carries an emergency inhaler
  • History of Epilepsy, convulsions or fainting
  • History of Diabetes
  • History of diving accident or diving sickness (such as DCS)

All of the above are potentially life threatening medical conditions when scuba diving, therefore we will accept a medical clearance only from a proper diving physician. If you don't know any, don't worry, we will advise you different options when you are in Cozumel.

For all other medical situations which would merit a “Yes” answer on the medical questionnaire, a medical clearance from a certified doctor in general will suffice.

These steps are taken with your safety in mind and in an attempt to reduce the risk of injury or death whilst diving.

Please note that Divemaster Academy maintains the right to refuse to allow a guest to dive based on medical or any other reason. Please refer to our refund policy for more information about cancellation and refunds because of medical reasons.

Cancellation Policy
Even in spite of our company’s mission to “Provide the best QUALITY, SAFETY and CUSTOMER SATISFACTION”, occasionally some unexpected events might happen during your holidays. For this reasons we have our Refund & Cancellation Policy. And we are proud to do so. Our policy is open, honest and is not written with small prints. Our aim is to keep our prices at an affordable level for international backpackers and our service level and occupancy high. Our cancellation and refund policy is reflecting this. We would recommend a separate travel & cancellation insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances from your local insurance company. We also recommend scuba diving insurance such as Divers Alert Network (DAN) or You should purchase this before your arrival in Cozumel. 1.0 Refund and cancellation policy: accommodation We have a 3 days cancellation policy for accommodation in case of flexible rate and walk-in reservations. Gratis nights for scuba diving: This promotion is an exclusive guest discount for guest with a fully paid non-refundable reservation. We deduct the price of a basic dorm bed from your scuba diving balance at the basic rate (approx 10 USD) per every day you dive with us. This promotion is subject of availability and doesn't apply between 15th of December and 15th of January and during special events. 1.1 Refund policy: diving, snorkeling, and other excursions and courses For Accommodation 3 days cancellation policy applies, in case of refundable rate booking. Please check the confirmation e-mail from your booking site (, etc.) for details. All reservations made on our website are final and non-refundable. No refunds after check-in. Non-refundable rate bookings are subject to 100% penalty in case of cancellation or no-show. Final payment for scheduled dives and courses is due upon check-in at the dive shop or the hostel. We accept Cash, PayPal*, Visa, and MasterCard via PayPal or direct Chase/Bank of America deposit or wire transfer in advance. Cancellations more than 30 days prior to Dive/Snorkel/Excursion or Dive Course date: full refund. * Cancellation 30 to 2 day prior to Dive/Snorkel/Excursion or Dive Course date: 50 % fee is the charge. In case the student used the assigned code and downloaded the digital PADI manual, the deposit is non-refundable any more. Deposits for divemaster internship programs are non-refundable. In case of cancellation of stay and dive packages and courses, we deduct the promotional discount from the price of the dive portion of the package. Accommodation bookings made on our website (using the best available rates available) are final and non-refundable. Cancellation within 24 hours prior to Dive/Snorkel/Excursion or Dive Course date: No refund We are not responsible for any dives or courses canceled by the customer (illness, seasickness, inability to equalize, ear problems, hangovers, etc.) Cancellations without notice or within 24 hours: No Refund. Any cancellations made after 3:00 pm the day before the scheduled dive are not eligible for a refund. Cancellations due to sickness or other medical condition, which prevents the client from diving/snorkeling or excursion: We would request a written statement of a doctor, in which case we will do everything possible to reschedule the Dive/Snorkel/Excursion/Course without extra cost based on availability. If rescheduling isn’t possible within the holiday’s timeframe, the client shall receive a voucher which will be valid for 1 year. Without written medical documentation no refund or voucher. Refund voucher for partially used packages with FREE tanks included, will be converted to single tanks prices (used by the client), as the FREE tank is a courtesy. No refund for partially used stay and dive packages, no refund for used nor unused nights from accommodation packages. Excursions and dive courses can be rescheduled due to “bad” weather. All dive/snorkel/excursions and courses will commence as scheduled, without further notice from 2tank Dive Hostel. Cancellations by 2tank Dive Hostel due to any reason will result in a 100% refund. Cancellations due to sickness must be justified in writing by a Medical authority. Rainy, cloudy and/or windy weather are no valid reasons for cancellation by the client, we strictly follow harbor master recommendations on when to cancel a tour or a course. There is no refund after a trip/course has started/divers are on board/on the dive site and the port is closed or the weather is turning bad during the trip. There is no refund for delayed (but conducted) trips or courses because of bad weather if the diver decides not to wait for better conditions or for the port being reopened. A “No Show” or late show (more than 10 minutes) with or without notice in advance is equivalent to cancellation without notice. If a multi-day dive course is rescheduled out of the students holiday timeframe because of bad weather/port is closed, we refund the missed portions of the paid course as it follows: missed confined water sessions / 20 USD refund per session* missed open water dives / 35 USD refund per missed dive* there is no refund for digital or paper books and tuition In case of bad weather we always complete the full knowledge development part of the course including knowledge reviews, quizzes and the final exam (if applicable), and provide a referral form which can be used and counts towards in the same course level with any independent PADI Instructor or PADI Dive Shop or PADI Dive Resort anywhere in the world, within one year timeframe. * 6% service fee applies. 1.2 Refund policy: direct online “Stay & Dive” Packages Divemaster Academy is happy to offer our special room rates directly to the customer as part of our diving package. We are not an agency and offer this as a service, and therefore we can not be responsible or interact on any complaint, room preference, overbooking, and hotel availability. Please address this directly with the hostel/hotel/resort management in question, as they can act immediately. You may cancel or change your prepaid resort reservation, but you will be charged the cancellation or change fee indicated in the rules and restrictions for that specific resort reservation. We have to follow their policy guidelines. You agree to pay any cancellation or change fees that you incur. In limited cases, some hotels do not permit changes to or cancellations of reservations after they are made, as indicated in the rules and restrictions for the hotel reservation. You agree to abide by the terms and conditions imposed with respect to your prepaid hotel reservations. For the diving part of this package, above Refund Policy 1.1 applies. For the hotel/resort part of the package, this Refund Policy 1.2 applies also. Cancellation and No Show policies for GROUPS All cancellation or room reduction on the number of rooms originally booked have to be in writing and must be received by the Sales Department 30 days before the group arrival date. Any cancellation or room reduction less than 30 days before group arrival date will have an additional penalty depending on the resort booked (please inquire). Any cancellation (Or No Shows) less than 15 days before group arrival date will have 100% penalty. * 6% service fee and PayPal fees applies. In case of PayPal payments, the service fee applies for the payment and for the refund too. Hostel/hotel policies can change without prior notice (we obey hostel/hotel policies). 2tank Dive Hostel will do everything possible to solve any dispute. Please give our team a chance to solve any conflict you have.
